An International Soy Conclave organised by SOPA on 7th and 8th October, 2017 at the Brilliant Convention Centre, Scheme No. 78, Vijay Nagar, Indore. The theme of the conclave was “Creating Sustainable Soy Business”.
Soybean is the largest grown oilseed crop in the world and also in India. It plays a major role in the Indian oilseed economy. In India, about 50 lakh farmers are involved in soybean cultivation, producing over 11 million tons of soybean. More than 100 solvent extraction plants are engaged in soy processing and the sector accounts for an annual turnover of over Rs. 50000 crores (US$ 7.7 billion) which includes exports worth Rs. 15000 crores (US$ 2.3 billion).
In a changing world, where trade dynamics keep shifting every day, it is necessary for everyone to keep updated on the production, pricing, stocks, supplies etc. at all times. Soybean crop would be ready for harvest by the first week of October and first estimates of crop would have been received by them. The timing of the conclave, therefore, is most appropriate, to look at the crop numbers, supply and demand situation, global oilseed scenario, price outlook etc. and chart out the future course of action for the trade and industry. The conclave would also provide an excellent opportunity for networking and developing business relations with the participants from all over the world.
A number of VIPs, Ministers both from Central and State Government and senior government officials are being invited to address the conclave. Over 500 delegates from India and abroad including representatives from trade and industry, scientists, technologists, farmers and experts in commodity business will participate in the conclave.
Concurrently with the conclave, a buyer-seller meet will be organised on 7th October, 2017 for restricted participation by soy processors and poultry and livestock feed manufacturers. This will be a great opportunity to meet your counterparts in business at one place and conclude actual trade in soybean meal and other products.
